NSW Group Awards

    Each year, NSW Group presents various awards to its members and units to recognise their efforts. Details on these awards are found here. 

    Cadet of the Year Award
    The Cadet of the Year Award is awarded to the Cadet who best represents the values and principles of the Australian Air League and is an outstanding example for others. This award is assessed based on three age group categories.

    On Sunday 19th September 2021 the NSW Group Executive Commissioner announced the following winners of the NSW Group Cadet of the Year Competition 2021:

    Nominee Application

    Applications for the Cadet of the Year Award are open each year around May. Submit this form to nominate applicants for the upcoming Cadet of the Year Competition.

    Award Timeline

    Nominations Due (June – July)
    Squadrons must submit nominations no later than 14 days prior to the commencement of the Annual Group Training Camp.

    Nominees Announced (July – August)
    Nominees will officially be announced at the Group Training Camp, usually during the Opening Parade or Ceremony.

    Interview and Assessment Day (August – September)
    Nominees announced at the Group Training Camp will be invited and required to attend an Interview and Assessment Day usually held in August.

    Winners Announced (September – October)
    Competition participants and Winners will be announced at the NSW Group Review.

    Outstanding Service Award (OSA)
    The NSW Group Outstanding Service Award is awarded to an Officer who represents the values and principles of the Australian Air League whose actions, through diligent service, assist New South Wales Group to meet the aims and objectives of the Australian Air League.

    Applications for the Oustanding Service Award are open each year around August/September. Submit this form to nominate applicants for this award.

    Nominations close 1700hrs on Monday 11th October 2021.

    Members must submit nominations no later than the Group Council meeting in August or September (depending on the year).

    Winners Announced (September – October)
    Competition participants and Winners will usually be announced at the NSW Group Review.

    Rules / Guidelines

    The following minimum requirements must be met by the nominee:

    • The nominee is an Officer of the Australian Air League within NSW Group.
    • The nominee holds a rank of Second Officer or higher
    • The nominee has at least 5 Years of active Officer service (service as an Officer).
    Associate Service Award (ASA)
    The NSW Group Associate Service Award is awarded to an Associate Member who represents the values and principles of the Australian Air League whose actions, through diligent service, assist New South Wales Group to meet the aims and objectives of the Australian Air League.

    • The nominee has at least 5 Years of service.
    • The nominee has been actively involved in the Air League for the past 12 months in a Squadron Committee or similar.
