Air League Online

    You can still participate in Air League events, even while we are in lockdown. NSW Group is embracing online versions of meeting to allow Cadets and Officers to socialise and participate in Air League events, just in a more digital way. Information on how to participate online is found on this page.

    NSW Group Online Awards Ceremony

    NSW Group will host an online Awards Ceremony via Zoom from 11 am on Sunday 19th September 2021. All members of NSW Group are invited to attend. Uniform is not required.

    Daily Discord Server
    Jump in each day to our very own Discord Server. Members of NSW Group can join each day at certain times to talk with members all over NSW and special guests.

    Discord Server Hours

    All rooms are monitored and are only opened during certain hours. Rooms are locked after these hours and you will not be allowed to communicate in them. These hours are:

    School Days: 1700hrs (5pm) – 2100hrs (9pm)

    Weekends: 0900hrs (9am) – 2200hrs (10pm)

    School Holidays: TBA.

    Discord Server Rules

    1. We ask that everyone that enters the server read and agree to the rules. Once you have done this and verified it, you will be allowed into the meeting rooms.
    2. Please make sure you display your first name and membership number. If you do not show this as your name, you may be banned from the server.
    3. If your Squadron is online for the Squadron night’s you will not be allowed in our server. If you are found to be on our server at this time we will remove you and advise your Squadron OC. You are to attend all your Squadron meetings.
    4. These rooms are not opened during school hours as your schooling is very important the same as your Squadron Nights.
    5. No bullying. There is a no-bullying policy within this server. You will be instantly banned and your OC will be advised.
    6. Be respectful to all fellow members. Disrespect will have an instant ban from the server.
    7. No offensive language.
    8. These rooms are English only.
    9. No explicit images.
    10. Don’t abuse the bots. They are here to help and keep these rooms safe.
    11. Officers rooms are for over 18 years old’s only.
    12. Report all misuse of the room to moderators. Please don’t mini-mod.

    Discord Server Rooms

    Media and Art Rooms – are for pictures and drawings in regards to aviation and the AAL.
    Question Room – So that your questions are not lost in the rooms, you can leave questions here that you need answered.
    General Rooms – These are for those members who cannot use a microphone or video and can only type.
    Meeting Rooms – These are for those wanting to type, use video and microphone. Please be courteous and wait for others to finish before jumping on the microphone.
    Officers Rooms – These are for officers only. Let’s look after it ladies and gentlemen and share ideas for our Squadrons.

    Software Links for Squadron Online Sessions

    Kahoot –
    Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform, used as educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. Its learning games, “kahoots”, are user-generated multiple-choice quizzes that can be accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot app.

    Zoom Cloud Meetings is a video teleconferencing software program that allows participants to join together virtually, show their faces by using their device’s camera and talk to each other using their device’s microphone and speaker.

    Discord is software that allows you to connect online with your voice and interact in pre-determined text-only channels. This allows communication constantly if desired rather then during a set determined time period (if using zoom for example).

    Online Bingo –
    Connect with everyone from your Squadron by setting up online bingo games with your own words:

    Taboo Game
    Connect with everyone online and provide one player with the 6 Taboo words generated by the link above, this player (with the Taboo word) needs to attempt to give hints to the other players without saying any of the Taboo words. The rest of the players need to guess the main Taboo word within a time limit (usually 2 minutes).

    A simple one to set up and a popular choice. In this game, players split into 2 teams and each team elects a Spymaster. The spymaster provides hints to their team without talking and their team must work out the hint by selecting the words on the screen that would work with the hint provided. It’s best to create breakout rooms or separate channels for each team. You can watch a how-to-play video here:

    Free Flight Simulator
    Allow members to show their skills in this browser enabled flight simulator. It’s not a fancy as the latest flight sim software, but the concepts of flight can be seen for free, in their browser.

    Trivia Maker (Costs)
    Setup Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire style games with this in browser software.

    HaxBall is a realtime multiplayer game that plays like a mix between football and air-hockey, and it’s a real blast. Player skill makes a big difference and teamwork shines when playing in teams of 3v3 and 4v4.
